This qualification is designed to support the growth
and development of the childcare sector and to meet the requirements of
the national standards for under 8s day care and childminding.
Aims of the Course:
- Establish the first aid requirements of an individual.
- Carry out life saving procedures for an adult, child
and baby.
- Recognise the dangers in an emergency situation.
- Identify possible dangers to the first aider in
an emergency scene.
- Recognise and respond to children's life threatening
illnesses.
- Recognise and respond to types of children's injuries.
- Offer appropriate comfort and reassurance to an
ill or injured child.
- Identify the planning and reporting procedure for
children's accidents and illnesses.
