childcare sector and to meet the requirements
of the national standards for under 8s day
care and child minding.

Aims
At the end of the course participants will
be able to:
- Establish
the first aid requirements of an individual.
- Carry
out life saving procedures for an adult,
child and baby.
- Recognise
the dangers in an emergency situation.
- Identify
possible dangers to the first aider in an
emergency situation.
- Recognise
and respond to children's life threatening
illnesses.
- Recognise
and respond to different types of children's
injuries.
- Offer
appropriate comfort and reassurance to an
ill or injured child.
- Identify
the planning and reporting procedure for
children's accidents and illnesses.

Certification
Level 2 in Emergency First Aid for those Caring
for Children (Valid for 3 years).
